Our first month as a family - Nuestro primer mes como familia

Well everyone it has been a month and 16 days since our "Gotcha day" and it has been nothing but amazing!!! I don't know even where to start.........Liam has been the greatest Blessing in our lives, I don't think we have enjoyed life as we have this past month.  My husband and I both agree that we have completely fallen in Love with our beautiful boy.  He has adjusted very well and he is a very social -child, everyone that he meets is charmed with his smile, his cute laugh and even some kisses!! It has been the wonderful!! In this past month he has learned many words, like:

"Bathtub"( he says this when he wants to take a bath,
"Shoe"
"Wow Wow" this is when he see any kind of dog.
"Cat"
"Hello" in english and spanish
"Mami or Mama" Depends on his mood
"Papi or Baba"
"Eat"
"Milk"

and at least 5 more words that I can't remember right now.  Now I have to be honest that the first couple of weeks home were rough because of the whole time zone thing and he would wake up like 3 to 4 times a night and cry for me or my husband and it would take a 30 min. to fall back asleep,  but now he wakes up a couple of times a night and within 10 min. he is sleeping again.  So besides that's we all Good!! Here are a few pictures of Liam first month in his new life.
-------------------------------------------------

Our First Thanksgiving - Nuestro primer Dia de Accion de Gracias

We been home for about 3 weeks now and it has been nothing but a wonderful time for us. We had our first family Thanksgiving at my Dad's House and Liam Panshu had his first real taste of Puerto Rican Thanksgiving meal which consist of : Rice with Pigeon Peas, Turkey , Potato salad. Mom my is a good cook and of course Liam is a great eater so the combo was perfect. This was only the second time he meet everyone since we arrived and it was great to see that he felt right at home with his Aunt Lizette, Uncle Javier and cousin Alixa.  The guys watched football, the ladies hung out and Liam and Alixa played for awhile, it was a good Thanksgiving  and We had so much to be thankful for!!!!!_____________________________________________

Welcome Home from FCC of Puerto Rico

As I walked thru the Airport doors, I was recieved by the most wonderful, supportive, loving people. Many members of the FCC /FAC of PR and family came to greet us at the Airport on 11-12-2010, we were suppose to arrive at about 7:00pm but because of a flight delay in New York we finally made it out by 8:30pm.  I just want to thank everyone that went to greet us (and for waiting it out) and those who did not make I know that you were there in spirit. I want to thank Brenda T. for taking all these great pics.  Enjoy.

Our 1st week as a family‏-Pics

Sightseeing tour at Chen Family's Temple in Guangzhou

Our 1st week as a family

Well today marks our 1 week as a true family and it has been so wonderful, hard and rewarding.  In this past week I have learned so much about Liam Panshu, he loves to play peek-a-boo (you don't even have to hide, he just loves the way it sounds) he eats everything, expects Lettuce (he just doesn't like the look of it) He loves to be held by Mami  (ALLOT!!!) gets cranky without a afternoon nap and love to get his way (not that he always does). Liam Panshu has been a true God sent, we could not have been blessed more with such a sweet, strong, healthy, beautiful boy. Now we have has a couple of situations like attachments issues, he seems to have bonded to more to me then my husband.  This has lead to a couple of concerns, up to now he will only allow me to feed and bathe him or even cuddle, if I leave the room (no matter where we are) HE HAS A FIT! Yells for Mami and won't stop crying until he sees me.  At the Orphanage there were only nannies no male figures expect for Director and he or was not around the kids that much, so pretty much he does not feel safe around men.  This week we have been working on that and there has been some process, my husband and him play for awhile and I try to distance myself little by little until I leave the room. Of course he has noticed but it's getting better.  Last night we experience our first (hopefully last) night terror.  Liam woke up about 1:00 am just screaming and kicking but I notice he eyes were shut, then I realized what it was.  It broke my heart to think that he is so stress out because of all of the changes in his life,well..... who wouldn't be.  The night terror lasted about 45 minutes to an hour we didn't want to wake him up at first (I thought he may go in to shock or something) but he woke himself up and just wanted to cuddle for awhile.  We hope that this will not happen anymore but who know.  Other thing about Liam, no matter where we go, he always draws a crowd. When we went to the Temple in Hohhot the Monks gather around and asked bout him and said he was a very handsome boy.  When we visted the Museum of Inner Mongolia the girls who worked there just thought he was beautiful and charming.  That's my Boy!!!!!

We are still adjusting to one other and we are all loving it, we have already play so many family games, laughs and plenty of family hugs.  I will leave you with a couple of pic of the star of the show.  Enjoy!

Our Medical Exam - Even more pics

After his shots he held me by my neck and held my face close to his, until he fell asleep.

Our Medical Exam-More Pics

Pics of the first 2 exams given.

Our Medical Exam

On 11/06/2010 we went to get Liam's Visa photo and his Medical Exam.  There is about 10 families in our agency group so it took awhile to get these things done. In our group there is healthy, waiting child and older child adoptive parents and it is so wonderful to see so many first time parents. It is great just talk to other couples about anything and everything about our wonderful kids. The Visa photo was quick and easy and my Liam is a true Model!!! (In my eyes of course!!!) Now the first have of the Medical Exam was easy weight, height etc.
Liam breeze right thru those, but then................the dreaded vaccination shots!!! According to his record he just had 3 shots done in august  so I thought it wouldn't be more then 3........They give him 6!!!!! I was pissed!!! I thought they were just being mean and maybe even repeating some of them.  We couldn't do anything about it, it is part of the Hauge agreement and the CCAA is in control.  Needless to say, I had to hold him down and it broke my heart to hear him cry and say Mama over and over again. After that he did do well, he fell asleep and no fever. Amen!!! We have already completed the TB check today aslo and he was clear.  Just a few more days and we will be coming home!!! Enjoy the pics.

Our plane ride to Guangzhou

We finally left Hohhot on 11/05/2010 it was bitter sweet for us, we were very sad that our son was leaving his homeland but at the same time me and Juan were freaking freezing!!!!!!
We only left the hotel room for the tours or anything else that was necessary, the worst part for us was the Liam had a cold the day we got him and the cold air just complicated his sickness and on the plane it was hard for him to breath.  Anyways, yeah the plane ride.................ladies and gentlemen it was not a good experience!!! Liam hated the sounds, people and was very cranky to make things worst we had a connection flight Hohhot to Boatou, then Boatou to Guangzhou.

The first flight lasted only 15 min. and he fell asleep, I thought...... piece of cake!!! Once we got on to the connection flight, a whole other side of Liam Panshu was seen. As soon as we boarded he began to cry, scream and kick nothing seems to console him. I check him over but it didn't sound like he was in any pain, it was more of the sleepy fits that he has.   I would get up from my seat with him and rock him over my shoulder while walking up the airplane aisle, I was desperate! I give him milk and nothing!! He finally fell asleep just from being exhausted. The flight was for about 2 hour and he lasted about a good hour.  It wasn't easy and I hoping and praying our flight home will go better.  Here are a couple of pics of Liam on our plane ride.

Our trip to the Museum.

Today Liam Panshu woke up about 5:30 am and it seems that he is getting over his cold.  He was laughing and grabbing everything in the room and started to play with it. Today at 9:30 am we left to the Inner Mongolian Museum. There was alot of exhibits that had english information and luckly our guide was with us so she would inform us a little more in detail about the Mongolian Life style and History.  Of course we left about half day because Liam Panshu was feeling cranky cause it was close to his nap time.  I will be posting more detail about our visit for now, enjoy the pics
